System(s): Sega Saturn |
Publisher: Sega (JP, UK), Working Designs (US) |
Developer: Sega AM2 |
Sega Ages: Volume 1 is a compilation pack for the Sega Saturn featuring the arcade classics After Burner II, OutRun and Space Harrier. In North America it was published by Working Designs and simply titled Sega Ages. Due to the Saturn's failure in the western world, no "Volume 2" was ever released, making it the only Sega Ages title to escape Japan. All three games are identical to their arcade counterparts, but there are extra options which can be set to alter the difficulty of the game.
In Japan, each game was released separately, however Japan also recieved other games under the Sega Ages brand such as Power Drift and Galaxy Force II which may have been included in the second western volume if it had been released. Japan would continue using the Sega Ages brand in the Sega Ages 2500 series on the Sony PlayStation 2.
