The Sega MONACO is Japanese, made in the middle 1960s as a copy of the American Mills Novelty company "Hightop," only with a new and unique Japanese cabinet. The dime play comes from the fact they were made for U.S. service clubs along the Pacific Rim, and were very popular there during the war in Viet Nam.

This 1969 video (in color) contains footage of several arcades in Britain like Playland, Fun City, etc... at minute 1:20 we can see a lady playing a Sega slot machine called Sega Sailor... I wonder... how many of these videos they have in their archive?... a true "trip to the past"...
