Hard Yardage is an arcade American football game. A Sega Mega Drive port was announced at Winter CES 1990 but was cancelled for unknown reasons. Had it been released, it would have been the first American football game to land on the system (save for a futuristic alternative, Cyberball).
Supposedly Hard Yardage was adopted by Sega at one point in their efforts to create Joe Montana Football. The project was scrapped and Sega were forced to turn to other developers[1].
