The Winter International Consumer Electronics Show 1990 (WCES 1990).

Sega's theme for this show was "Sega for the 90's", and included a display of video game history up until that point, culminating with the Sega Genesis console. This means at the Sega booth there was at least one Pong console, an Atari 2600, Intellivision and NES (alongside a Master System and Genesis to complete the set)[2].

Products featured

Master System

Having regained the rights back from Tonka, Sega of America was directly supporting the Sega Master System in January 1990, and brought over a dozen games to the show. It also dropped the price of the console to $70 USD in the US[3], matching the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Mega Drive

Winter CES 1990 was the first major event the Mega Drive (or Genesis) appeared at post-launch, with Sega keen to promote its "arcade in the home" credentials and initial offerings from third-party publishers. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker garnered the most attention, alongside Dick Tracy, the video game adaption of what was then expected to be one of the highest grossing movies of 1990.

Nintendo Entertainment System

Tengen also brought a handful of its NES ports of Sega games to the show:
