Cross Fire known as Super Airwolf(スーパーエアーウルフ) in Japan, is a 1991 shoot-'em-up for the Sega Mega Drive by A.I and Kyugo to tie into Universal Pictures's Airwolf television series and as a sequel to their 1987 arcade game Airwolf. However in the United States, they dropped the license and published the game as Cross Fire, since Acclaim held the exclusive rights to publish Airwolf console and handheld games in America and Europe (which also resulted in Kyugo's Famicom port of the Airwolf arcade game being exclusive to Japan). There is a Cross Fire game on the Famicom, however both versions are completely different. Kyugo planned to release the Famicom version in America, but it was never released.
