The Black Onyx (ザ・ブラックオニキス) is a role-playing game originally released by Bullet Proof Software in 1984 for the NEC PC-8801 and subsequently ported to various other platforms. The SG-1000 version was produced by Sega themselves in 1987 and was the final game released in MyCard format and for the system overall. It was released during the same year as Loretta no Shouzou, the last SG-1000 cartridge game.
The game was followed by The Black Onyx II: Search For The Fire Crystal, which saw its original MSX release in 1984.
