The Sega Mega Drive version of The Chessmaster is a simple chess game released exclusively through the Sega Channel in the US. It was originally set for a physical release in the second half of 1992[2], and then March 1993[3], but did not arrive on the service until 1996. A different chess game with the same name was released for the Sega Game Gear.
