The Olympia series describes a generation of Japan-exclusive slot machines published by Olympia, a joint venture between Sega Enterprises and Taito. Beginning with the Olympia Star in 1964, the machine was instrumental in bringing a form of legalized slot gambling to Japan, and laid the foundations for the future medal game industry.[1] They were the first pachislot machines, which are still often known as "Olympia machines" in Japan.[1][2]
