Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia is a Sega Mega-CD encyclopedia program developed and published by Compton's NewMedia. A port of the developer's titular 1993 Windows PC program Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia, it was released exclusively in the United States in 1994, both as a stand-alone product and as a pack-in title for the JVC X'Eye.

Program
Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia features 34,000 subjects, 5,000 pictures, and 30 video articles sourced from the American Library Association.
History
Four revisions of Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia were released.[1] The first, bundled with the JVC X'Eye and internally dated May 1994, is the title's base release. The second, bundled with a later release of the X'Eye and internally dated September 1994, greatly expands upon the number of articles and adds an additional series of narrated slideshows. This second revision was also the base for a third revision, which was the version available for purchase separately. The fourth, also bundled with an even later release of the X'Eye and internally dated October 1994, is virtual identical to the previous revision spare an updated set of production credits and some minor programming changes.[1]
