It was released in Japan, France, Spain and Portugal, but not the rest of Europe and not North America. However, the credits in the French version confirm a North American English version of the game was planned, courtesy of Bandai America. This is not the first time a Dragon Ball Z game has been released in these regions either - Dragon Ball Z: Buyuu Retsuden on the Sega Mega Drive was also released in France, Spain and Portugal, but skipped the rest of Europe. In France the cover retained the Japanese name of the game, with the French title of Dragon Ball Z La Grande Legende Des Boules De Cristal being displayed on the title screen, in Spain and Portugal this Saturn game is known as Dragon Ball Z: The Legend. The European versions of the game are all localised in French, but differ in the instruction manual languages with French, Spanish and Portuguese versions in their respective markets.
