The Black Onyx (ザ・ブラックオニキス) is a role-playing game originally released by Bullet Proof Software in 1984 for the NEC PC-8801 and subsequently ported to various other platforms. The SG-1000 version was released by Sega themselves in 1987 and it was the final game released in the My Card format. It was released during the same year as Loretta no Shouzou, the last SG-1000 cartridge game, but because of the lack of documented release date for this game, it is unclear which of the two was truly the last official SG-1000 game.
The game was followed by The Black Onyx II: Search For The Fire Crystal, which saw its original MSX release in 1984.
