Disable time limit

On the options screen, highlight "time limit", hold and keep pressing left until the number reads 00. Now fights will only end if there is a K.O..

Never win VS mode

On the control menu from the options screen, highlight "point", hold and keep pressing left until the number reads 0. The player will now have to win 99,999 rounds to beat their opponent in VS mode.

This trick works for either player.

Select CPU opponent in VS COM modes

In either the "1P VS COM" or "COM VS COM" modes, the computer usually picks a character at random. This can be overruled by holding and pressing  START .

If the first control pad holds before selecting the (X) VS (X) option, it can choose the first player, and if second control pad holds , it can choose the second player.

Unlock Geese Howard in VS mode

Have both control pads press before pressing  START  on one of the (X) VS (X) options. This will add Geese to the selectable roster.
