The Head is an unreleased Sega Mega Drive action platform game developed by Alexandria and scheduled to be published in the United States by Viacom New Media in February 1995.[1] Based on the titular 1994 animated television series The Head, only a small amount of development on the project had been completed before financial troubles with Alexandria's parent company CPTV resulted in the studio's closure and The Head's cancellation.[1]

Gameplay
According to the game's lead programmer Earl Stratton, gameplay would largely place players in control of the show's alien character Roy, who would have popped out of Jim's head to begin stages. As The Head was built upon the engine used in the developer's previous Demolition Man, it is assumed the game would have featured standard action-platforming gameplay.[1]
History
“ | I worked on the initial code for SEGA Genesis, using the same engine used by Demolition Man, but it never really got off the ground; never even made beta. | „ |
In May 2014, lead programmer and former Alexandria developer Earl Stratton rediscovered portions of the game's source code, which were soon announced and preserved in a Nintendo Player article later that year. Unfortunately, many of the code's directories are missing, including the entirety of its graphic assets.[1]
