Marta Camilo is a senior web designer and digital design manager at Sega Europe, having designed websites such as www.sonicthehedgehog.com and www.dawnofwar.com.[3]
She is also an avid streamer, both participating in streams by Sega Europe and later branching out to her personal channel, being nominated for the GameHERS awards for Top Charity Streamer of the Year in 2021.[4]

Early life
Marta Camilo was first exposed to video games through her brother, who owned a ZX Spectrum, which they would play in the rare moments a game had finished loading. Another console she experienced early on was the Sega Master System, which several of her friends had. This was the system on which she played her very first Sonic the Hedgehog game.[5]
Being a big fan of the Master System, at the age of 6 or 7, she asked her parents to buy her one, but by this point the Sega Mega Drive had long been on the market, so they opted for the more recent device (with Sonic & Knuckles. Another instance of her requesting a game she played at a friend's and her parents purchasing the latest model was Streets of Rage 2, which has survived as her favourite Sega game.[5]
The Mega Drive remained Marta's most high-tech console until eventually getting a PlayStation 2, but she continued to play at her friends' houses, where the Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 could be found.[5]
Career
Growing up, Marta Camilo hadn't considered a career in video games to be feasible. However, while job hunting, an offer from Sega came for a web designer, which suited her freelance graphic design and Sega-loving backgrounds, so despite expecting to not hear back, she eventually applied for the job.[5] After several months of waiting, she was asked to be interviewed, and later was interviewed a second time, whereupon she was assigned a relatively simple task redesigning the Sega website, which was successful enough to guarantee a third and final interview before joining the company.[6]
While at Sega Europe, where it was not uncommon for employees to contribute outside of their official position (for example, Marta contributed UI designs to some games), she was invited by Ibrahim Bhatti to join certain community Twitch streams, such as one on Sega Ages Virtua Racing, another one of her favourite games. Gradually, she became a regular and expected guest for these community streams, while not officially working in community or public relations.[5][6] With the support of her friends, she started her own Twitch channel in March 2020, where she streams a variety of games, most notably in the Yakuza franchise.[7]
