Apple Arcade is a video game subscription service offered by Apple for devices running macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Users subscribe monthly or annually and have access to the full library of games for as long as the subscription remains active. Subscribers can share access with up to five other users through Family Sharing. New games are regularly added to the library (and games are also occasionally removed). The service launched in September 2019 with 71 games, including ChuChu Rocket! Universe and Sonic Racing.
All games available on the service are free of advertisements, in-app purchases, data tracking, and always-on DRM. The service integrates with Game Center and iCloud to provide features such as achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saves. Notable publishers and developers that have partnered with Apple to create games for Apple Arcade include Sega, Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Konami. Publishers often make exclusivity agreements with Apple so these games are not made available on competing platforms.
