Ken Pontac was a writer for the Sonic the Hedgehog series, starting with Sonic Colours.
Career
Writing Sonic
Ken Pontac has said that the creative process was he and Warren Graff would periodically have meetings with the American team at Sega going over lines and wondering what the next assets will be because video games are very different compared to their previous work for television. Most of the time when writing Sonic they had no idea what the new characters and robots Eggman would pilot would look like. He and Graff also got to go on trips to Japan at the beginning of the process to work out story details. Generally there would be an existing story that the Japanese team had then he and Graff would go in, punch it up, add things, and talk about broad strokes of the story. Not many specific lines, although it would sometimes go into that too. Working on Sonic was generally a big pleasure for him and Graff, not being hard, and it was very enjoyable for them. Especially with the fact that they got to go visit Japan, along with getting to play in another sandbox.[1]
