Worms 3D is an entry in the Worms series of games, developed by Team 17. Worms 3D was the first attempt at bringing this series into the third dimension.
The game was originally published in Europe by Sega for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. In early 2004 Acclaim Entertainment published the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and PC in North America, however the Xbox port was delayed in this region. When it eventually arrived (early 2005), this too was published by Sega, under the name Worms 3D: Special Edition, although the box still refers to it under the original name, and is identical to other versions, featuring the same changes from Acclaim's US release (namely the removal of the licensed song Coconuts by Junior Senior, and replacing it with an arrangement of the Worms theme.
