Global Entertainment R&D Dept. #3 or GE3 was a division within Sega of Japan. It essentially is the Phantasy Star team of Sonic Team, and continued the Sonic Team branding. It also carried over some Overworks/Sega WOW staff who had worked on Sakura Taisen Online and the online-only Guru Guru Onsen series. It merged with Sega CS3 in 2008, and dropped the Sonic Team branding.
