Beep! MegaDrive (JP), "January 1994"

"BE-Mega dog race" The game description reads "Side-scrolling action from the well-known GG Disney series. Sava Uncle Scrooge from the curse of the pendant!! Has 4 stages + extras."
Each reviewer has a distinctly different opinion on the game, besides generally considering it a well-made action above the Game Gear's standards. Game beginner girl 青山ようこ found it so action-packed there wasn't room to admire the graphics and it's so hard people might not put up with the game that long, unless they love Donald Duck like she does. Foreign game user OLIX光治 appreciates how clear Donald's expressions are even on the tiny Game Gear screen, and besides boss fights where the controls get changed, it's brisk and easy, and among the 5 Game Gear releases that month, it is the one he recommends most. Game mania group ハイローラーズ's ロ says the animations are good and the difficulty reasonable, but is mostly the same as every other recent Disney games. General game user ジャムおじさん doesn't think it's a bad entry in the series, but the maps are surprisingly nasty and lacking in novelty, they're just cute.

Beep! MegaDrive (JP), "January 1994"
|
"Beep! Game Gear" The game is reported as 100% complete. Highlights the new feature where players can pick which of the 4 rounds to begin with, showing descriptions and screenshots of all 4, and mention that players need to escape from bosses instead of defeating them, a very Disney thing to include. A brief summary of the plot is also given.

Sega Magazine (UK), "January 1994"

A simultaneous review of the Master System and Game Gear versions, with comments by Richard Leadbetter and Julian Rignall on each version. After going over the game's plot, it looks at some of the familiar and new features to see what makes it worth having as a new Game Gear game, discussing the game's nature as a quick-thinking puzzle game. The captioned screenshots show a boss encounter, Donald smashing chests, eating a chili and an idle animation.
Almost all the scores based on categories are identical between versions, but Master System gets 90 for lastability while Game Gear gets 93.
