Formula 1 is an officially licensed F1 game developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Psygnosis for the PlayStation in 1996. Following its PlayStation release a Sega Saturn version entered development in 1997, being handled by Probe Entertainment[1], but was cancelled[2].

According to programmer Keith Burkhill, the team had got the game running "as a wire frame" before the project was scrapped[3].

It is likely the game would have also run into licensing problems; PlayStation Formula 1 was based on the 1995 F1 season, the rights of which would have expired by this point in time, meaning content may have had to change to reflect the 1996 season instead. A PlayStation sequel, Formula 1 97 was also in the works, meaning the previous year's game would be competing directly with an up-to-date version.
