Gearbox Software is an American video game developer best known for a long line of first-person shooter games starting with various Half-Life expansion packs (leading them to be chosen to port the game to the Sega Dreamcast, which went unreleased in favor of a PlayStation 2 port) and continuing today with Ubisoft's Brothers in Arms series, 2K's Borderlands series, and 3D Realms's Duke Nukem franchise, among others. They have ventured into other realms on occasion, however (for instance, the port of Samba de Amigo to the Wii).
