Master System version
Attempting to boot the Japanese version of the game with an SG-1000 will greet the player with a black screen that plays an extended version of the title theme that cannot be heard anywhere else in the game:
Hang-On is one of only two known games to react to being played on an SG-1000, the other being Pit Pot.

Located at ROM address 7FEB in the Japanese ROM:

This string is replaced with "TMR SEGA" in the European ROM.
