Title screen
Options
World map
The Amiga version uses an arrow to pinpoint Puggsy's location on the map, and displays the area/level name on the bottom of the screen.
World Guardians
This screen's title is shortened to "World Guards" in the Mega-CD version. The Amiga version doesn't give this screen a title, nor does it darken the background.
Gameplay
The Mega-CD version adds instructions to pick up, carry and use objects in the levels that take place in The Beach. Due to the Amiga's limitations, the Amiga version has fewer colours and doesn't feature any parallax backgrounds.

Game Over
The Mega Drive version's Game Over screen features letters that dissolve into particles (they dissolve into nothing in the Amiga version), while in the Mega-CD version this screen is an FMV where the letters fall into the water.

Junior mode
The Junior mode, which is a short demo of the game for beginners accessible from the title screen, received many changes for the North American version of the game, likely to further decrease difficulty and make the mode more beginner-friendly.
The level structure of Junior mode and the featured levels are the most noticeable differences between both regional versions. The European version had four regular levels and one hidden level, which was moved to the fifth level in the North American version. As a result, the map had to be changed to accommodate this.

Of the two levels that are shared between both versions, The Beach 3 and The Light House 2, the European version keeps the item layouts as close as possible to those from the full game, while the North American version alters the layouts to make them easier. In this case, the staircase of barrels at the beginning of The Beach 2 has already been assembled.
A stack of coins and extra lives was added at the exit gate. Additionally, the North American version plays the music from A Hidden Place for this level.
The Light House 2 starts with a candle in front of Puggsy and five coins behind him in the European version. The North American version moves them to different places, as described below...
The candle was placed in front of the bunsen burner, and the gas pipe has already been repaired.
The coin slot already has coins deposited into it, and the coin on the left was moved to the right. The colour of the exit gate was changed from purple to yellow.
Both versions end with a boss fight against So Pharaoh So Good, the boss of the Pyramids in the full game. The boss starts with a full health bar in the European version, while the North American version reduces it to one unit.
