The v0.1a build of Puggsy is a prototype build of Puggsy for the Sega Mega Drive. It is the earliest known build of the game.
Jon Burton of Traveller's Tales "released" the prototype by means of a YouTube video to celebrate reaching 3,000 subscribers. The ROM appears as a sequence of images with black and white squares that represent a bit (white for set and black for clear). Compiling the images into a ROM produces this prototype.
The original ROM has a checksum issue and is not TMSS-compliant, as it doesn't write SEGA to 00A14000 (skipping step 2). A patch was made to address these issues.
