Big Thanks Super Keirin: Dream With Keirin 50 Years

From Sega Retro

Title Screenshot

The title screen image needs to be replaced with a more accurate one. If it's not obvious from its edit history, its just a cropped YouTube video, and we should really get a proper screenshot up eventually. CartridgeCulture (talk) 04:43, 12 June 2021 (EDT)

Determining Names

When determining a game's name by looking at its packaging, do we use the title as presented on the FRONT of the packaging, or the SPINE of the packaging? My philosophy has always been to use the name first presented to the consumer. And while that varies from retailer to retailer, I still think it makes sense to use the name on the front of the packaging.

The name Super Keiren is definitely more convenient, but then we're saying we're using the game's spine to determine its name (instead of its front), and that's not quite right. My argument against using spines is that they're not always that reliable when presenting a game's full title. It's a matter of physical space, and in some cases, subtitles are left out of the spines. Some games even have blank spines. So to me, even with Saturn games, it only makes sense to use the front of the game's packaging.

And in this case, that means a name change to Big Thanks Super Keirin: Dream With Keirin 50 Years. Just wanted to explain the reasoning behind the change ;) CartridgeCulture (talk) 05:09, 12 June 2021 (EDT)
