Reason for frequent in-gameplay crashing?

So this game crashes a TON. Like, what. And I'm not talking TMSS crashes, I mean "gets in game and triggers a software bug which crashes the entire program." crashes. How did this get published like this? I've seen at least eight contemporary accounts of the game freezing during basic gameplay (with two accounts having it freeze within the first week or so of owning it.) Now look, games crash every now and then, it happens. But companies like this have quality assurance which prevents a lot of these things from being more than rare occurrences.

But this is something else entirely. Osomatsu-kun was for sure rushed, but this rushed? Dang. Anyway, wanted to bring this up because while the rest of this game's faults are fairly subjective and/or understandable (frustrating controls, bad music etc), the crashes are the most objective thing. Are there certain actions which can trigger the bug? It's not important in the long run but it would be nice to have a dedicated section on its crashes.

Or to put it like this, most other crap Mega Drive games are- crap, but they won't "frequently crash" to this notable of a degree. What's going on with Osomatsu-kun's code? CartridgeCulture (talk) 21:22, 16 November 2021 (EST)
