Story
A Rocky & Bullwinkle Museum has been opened in downtown Frostbite Falls, filled with rare treasures collected by Rocky and Bullwinkle in their travels. However, during the opening, the "no-goodniks" Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale, disguised as security guards, steal three of the exhibits. Now Rocky and Bullwinkle must embark on an adventure to get them back.
Gameplay
The game is a side-scrolling platforming game in which the flying squirrel Rocky and the moose Bullwinkle must find three treasures that have been stolen from their museum. The levels are divided into three parts, one for each item. The first two parts are played as Bullwinkle, and the last part is played as Rocky. The goal of each level is to make it to the end, and there is a boss fight at the end of each part to acquire the treasure. The dastardly Pottsylvanian spies Boris and Natasha occasionally appear to harass Rocky and Bullwinkle. Besides the main game, there are two mini-games that the player can play to earn extra lives.
Rocky and Bullwinkle move with or
. They duck with
and jump with
. They can throw mooseberries (for Bullwinkle) or acorns (for Rocky) at enemies with
. These projectile attacks are effective against most enemies, but they are limited in supply. More ammunition can be found in the levels. Bullwinkle can use his antlers to headbutt with
, and Rocky can spin around and attack with his tail with
. These melee attacks are mostly used against ground-based enemies that are too small to be hit by projectiles (such as rats).
Each character has five daisies representing their health and lose a daisy when they are hurt. They lose a life when they run out of daisies and restart the level from a predetermined checkpoint if they have extra lives left. Otherwise, the game ends. Falling down bottomless pits also costs a life.
