Play as Hagure Hitogata

On the character select screen in any mode, highlight Akari Ichijou, then press 17 times, wait for a second, then press one more time. A voice line from Akari will play to confirm the code was entered correctly, then press or to select Hagure. This is a "mirror match" character that always takes the form of the opponent.

Play as Original Kaede

On the character select screen in any mode, highlight Kaede, then press 14 times. A voice line from Kaede will play to confirm the code was entered correctly, then press or to select Original Kaede. This is the original form of Kaede from The Last Blade, before the awakening of Seiryuu within him.

Play as Kotetsu

On the character select screen in any mode, highlight Shigen Naoe, then press 17 times. A voice line from Kotetsu will play to confirm the code was entered correctly, then press or to select Kotetsu. This is simply a different entrance animation for Shigen, who appears at the beginning of the match to replace Kotetsu.

Play as Kouryuu

On the character select screen in any mode, highlight Yuki, then press 19 times. A voice line from Kouryuu will play to confirm the code was entered correctly, then press or to select Kouryuu. This is the final boss of the game.

Hanafuda card game

A Hanafuda card game is unlocked and accessible from the main menu after completing the game with any character. This is exclusive to the Japanese version of the game.

Memorial Movie section in Demo Viewer

A Memorial Movie section unlocks in the Demo Viewer after completing a game of Hanafuda. This section contains cutscenes and endings (including the opening sequence) for the original The Last Blade. This is exclusive to the Japanese version of the game.
