+ | PAGENAME (ファイターズヒストリー・ダイナマイト), known as Karnov's Revenge in Europe, is a 2D fighting game originally developed by Data East for the Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware as a sequel to an earlier game, Fighter's History. It was ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997 and released exclusively in Japan.

+ | The game is a 2D fighting game that closely resembles Street Fighter II. It is the sequel to Fighter's History. As before, two competitors face off in hand-to-hand combat and try to drain each other's vitality bars. Matches are fought to the best of three rounds, and rounds are timed. If time runs out, the fighter with the most health remaining wins. The match ends in a draw if there is no victor by the end of the third round. While the previous game ran on a Data East arcade board and used a six-button layout similar to Street Fighter II, this game switched to the Neo Geo for its arcade version and adopted its four-button layout. The game also adds two new characters as well and makes the two boss characters playable, bringing the playable roster up to 13 characters. Returning characters gained new special moves, but only the final boss Karnov received a new sprite.
+ | |||
+ | Characters move with left and right and backstep with left left (or right right when facing left). Characters crouch with down and jump with upleft, up, or upright. They can punch with X (light) or Y (heavy) and kick with A (light) or B (heavy). Light attacks are quicker but do less damage. The attack performed varies depending on whether the character is standing, jumping, or crouching and the distance from the opponent. Every character has access to multiple special moves performed with special button combinations.
+ | |||
+ | Blocking is done by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. Characters can block while crouching or standing; low attacks (such as sweeps) can only be blocked crouching, while high attacks (including jumping attacks) can only be blocked standing. Special moves still inflict a small amount of "chip damage" when blocked. Throws and grabs are done by holding left or right when next to an opponent and pressing a hard punch or kick button (depending on the character being played). Throws cannot be blocked. Some characters have air throws.
+ | |||
+ | A unique feature of the Fighter's History games is that each character has a particular "weak spot" (usually an article of clothing). When this spot is hit three times by the opponent, the character is dizzied. The weak spot begins to flash after it has already been hit twice. Since the weak spot falls off after the character is dizzied, characters can only be stunned once per round. The location of the weak spot varies by character, so some characters are harder to stun than others.
+ | |||
+ | ===Modes=== | ||
+ | | ||
+ | There is an arcade mode where the player chooses any character and fights all 13 characters in the game (including a mirror match against the same character), ending with a fight against the final boss Karnov. If the player wins every match without losing a round on at least the Normal difficulty level, there is an additional fight against the secret boss Ox. A second player can join the game to challenge the first by pressing Start. The game ends if a player loses a match, but it can be continued an unlimited number of times. There are four difficulty levels for the computer opponents (Easy, Normal, Hard, and MVS).
+ | |||
+ | There is also a two-player versus mode where players can choose any character and fight a match against each other. The game keeps track of wins, losses, and draws for each player.
+ | |||
+ | The game saves high scores to the Saturn's internal memory.
+ | |||
+ | ===Characters=== | ||
+ | | ||
+ | Pressing Z or C is equivalent to pressing LP+HP+LK+HK.
+ | ====Playable==== | ||
+ | All of the characters from Fighter's History return. The bosses Clown and Karnov are now normally selectable characters. Two new characters are introduced, Liu Yungmie and Zazie Muhaba (along with a hidden boss character, Ox).
+ | |||
+ | Characters use their primary color scheme when selected with kick and their secondary color scheme when selected with punch.

Fighter's History Dynamite (ファイターズヒストリー・ダイナマイト), known as Karnov's Revenge in Europe, is a 2D fighting game originally developed by Data East for the Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware as a sequel to an earlier game, Fighter's History. It was ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997 and released exclusively in Japan.
Contents
Story
Karnov, a wealthy Russian man, is holding a second "Great Grapple" tournament to gather the best fighters again and redeem himself from his defeat in the previous tournament.
Gameplay
The game is a 2D fighting game that closely resembles Street Fighter II.
Characters move with and and backstep with (or when facing left). Characters crouch with and jump with , , or . They can punch with (light) or (heavy) and kick with (light) or (heavy). Light attacks are quicker but do less damage. The attack performed varies depending on whether the character is standing, jumping, or crouching and the distance from the opponent. Every character has access to multiple special moves performed with special button combinations.
Blocking is done by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. Characters can block while crouching or standing; low attacks (such as sweeps) can only be blocked crouching, while high attacks (including jumping attacks) can only be blocked standing. Special moves still inflict a small amount of "chip damage" when blocked. Throws and grabs are done by holding or when next to an opponent and pressing a hard punch or kick button (depending on the character being played). Throws cannot be blocked. Some characters have air throws.
A unique feature of the Fighter's History games is that each character has a particular "weak spot" (usually an article of clothing).
Modes
There is an arcade mode where the player chooses any character and fights all 13 characters in the game (including a mirror match against the same character), ending with a fight against the final boss Karnov. If the player wins every match without losing a round on at least the Normal difficulty level, there is an additional fight against the secret boss Ox. A second player can join the game to challenge the first by pressing START . The game ends if a player loses a match, but it can be continued an unlimited number of times. There are four difficulty levels for the computer opponents (Easy, Normal, Hard, and MVS).
There is also a two-player versus mode where players can choose any character and fight a match against each other. The game keeps track of wins, losses, and draws for each player.
The game saves high scores to the Saturn's internal memory.
Characters
Note: Move lists assume that the character is facing right. When facing left, and should be reversed.
