Brian Lara Cricket 96 is the sequel to Brian Lara Cricket, developed by Audiogenic Software and Codemasters and released on the Sega Mega Drive exclusively in Europe in 1996. It was also released in Australia as Shane Warne Cricket, and was also bundled with some Mega Drives in the region. It was Ozisoft's first game to be developed with content specifically for the Australian market[3].

Gameplay

Brian Lara Cricket 96 builds on the first Brian Lara Cricket, but adds a weatlth of new features including county cricket, world cup, international tests and historic matches to the game. There is also a new practice mode (complete with nets).

Rain makes an appearnce in Brian Lara Cricket 96, which can both temporarily stop play and alter the conditions of the pitch, which in turn can adjust the physics of the ball.
