Story
The Red Skull has assembled an army of supervillains and other henchmen in a plot to take over the world.
Gameplay
The game is a beat-'em-up. Unlike its home console counterparts, this version of the game is only single-player and strictly side-scrolling instead of belt-scrolling. Stages have a similar design to original game (being split up into sub-levels) but are populated by less varied enemies and fewer set pieces. As an example, Whirlwind who emerges from a wall from the first stage in the arcade game, triggering a verbal response from the player characters, only appears as a boss fight at the end of the first stage and is not seen before this point.
