3D Thunder Blade (3D サンダーブレード) is an enhanced port of Thunder Blade for the Nintendo 3DS and is part of M2's 3D Classics range.
Additional features include 3D effects, gyro controls, Circle Pad Pro support, replay saving, a stage select, a new difficulty setting where it's impossible to crash into buildings, new remixes of the original in-game music that can be toggled, and a "Special" mode that is unlocked when the game has been cleared once.
The "Special" mode brings several changes to the original game. A fifth stage has been added, the helicopter is a different color, weapons are enhanced, enemy and obstacle patterns are new, bosses have special introductions and a new end boss has been added.
3D Thunder Blade was intended to be the last game in the 3D Classics range, but due to the positive reception the series has received worldwide, three more games were announced to get enhanced ports.
