Echidna[1] was a video game development company founded in 1989, in California, by programmer John Alvarado[2] after graduating from the University of California (UCLA) with his old friends and school colleagues, Gregg Tavares, Greg Marquez, Ron Nakada and Dan Chang[3]. The company is known for creating TUME, a versatile map editor, which was licensed to many video game development companies in the early 90's.
