The AS-1 or Advanced System-1 is an interactive simulator ride released by Sega in 1993. It is a medium-sized attraction which allows up to eight users to sit inside, strap themselves in, and watch an interactive ridefilm. Hydraulics tilt the ride in in accordance to the on-screen action to simulate movement. A flight-stick styled controller with two buttons is located in front of each seat, which players use at certain points during the film to complete simulated "missions" (i.e. shooting enemy spacecraft).
AS-1s were a common feature across the many Sega indoor theme parks established in the 1990s.
