Gameplay
Heimdall is a part-action, part-turn-based RPG. The player traverses across a top-down isometric world, but fights enemies from a first person perspective. There are also a small handful of "sub games".
Versions
The Mega-CD version of Heimdall is very similar to the Amiga and Atari ST originals, however the introduction is now spoken rather than presented through text.
Heimdall was originally designed to rely on a mouse and keyboard combination, with all menus (and fight scenes) being designed around pointing and clicking. While this was not fundementally changed on the Mega-CD, the game curiously does not support the Sega Mouse, meaning all actions are performed through a standard control pad.
