Atsushi Kanno (菅野 敦) is a former Sega of Japan designer and scenario writer for the Phantasy Star and Sonic the Hedgehog series. His final work with the company was "Sonic the Hedgehog 20th Anniversary Work" (eventually became Sonic Generations), for which he was the initial director[1], likely uncredited due to leaving Sega before its release.
Kanno moved to Level-5, where he was best-known as the director of 3DS game Fantasy Life[2], but his notable works also include the Inazuma Eleven series, Professor Layton series and Little Battlers Experience series[3]. He has since worked as both a freelancer and as an employee of LASTWONDER[1].
