Super Star Wars is a side-scrolling action game released for the Super NES in 1992 developed by Sculptured Software and LucasArts based upon the 1977 Star Wars film. Development on a Sega Mega Drive version was said to be almost complete, before LucasArts switched to the Sega Mega-CD for its superior graphical abilities. Ultimately neither version was released.

Super Star Wars would be followed by adaptations of the subsequent Star Wars films, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, also on Super NES. Only Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi would see a port to a Sega platform, in this case the Sega Game Gear.

An early prototype of the Mega Drive version was found and dumped by drx in 2019, and released on Hidden Palace on January 1, 2020 as part of the Holiday 2019 releases[4].
