Thunderbolt II, which also refers to itself as Lei Dian Chuan Shuo II (雷電傳説II) or just Lei Dian II (雷電II) is an unlicensed (Taiwanese exclusive) vertical scrolling shoot-'em-up released for the Sega Mega Drive in 1995. There is not thought to have been a Thunderbolt I - more likely it is borrowing its name from Raiden II, a 1993 arcade shooter by Seibu Kaihatsu that is a sequel to Raiden.

Piko Interactive acquired the rights to this game and released the official English localization in 2019. This version features some improvements like compatibility with Genesis consoles and difficulty levels.[3]

Plot

Your goal is to destroy with impunity as you are Earth’s... no, you are humanity’s last hope of survival. Rest assured, your failure means there will be no Earth to come home to.
