Stack Columns (スタックコラムス) is an entry in the Columns series, released for Sega System C arcade hardware in 1994.

Stack Columns was never ported to a home platform, though was re-released as part of the Columns Arcade Collection pack for the Sega Saturn. Sega Logistics Service announced it would end service on Stack Columns arcade machines on March 31, 2017.[2][3]

Gameplay

Gameplay in Stack Columns is mostly identical to that seen in "regular" Columns, however with a stronger focus on competitive play. Stack Columns introduces the Crush Bar from Columns III, now called the "Stack." If the beginner mode is not chosen, the Stack is built up after combos. Pressing B when a stack is present allows you to "attack" an enemy, causing that pile to rise close to the top. The higher the stack, the more damage is done.
