Torico, known as Gekka Mugentan Torico (月花霧幻譚 ＴＯＲＩＣＯ) in Japan and Lunacy in North America, is an adventure game reliant on full-motion video comprised of pre-rendered 3D animation. It is a successor to Yumemi Mystery Mansion and The Mansion of Hidden Souls.

Gameplay

The game plays almost identically to Yumemi Mystery Mansion, the player assumes the role of an amnesiac traveler named Fred. He can travel on pre-determined paths and movement is displayed via FMV. Like Jonathan in Yumemi Mystery Mansion, Fred can examine objects, some of which can be picked up and held in his inventory.

In addition to the inventory seen in the previous two games, Torico introduces "memory select" which allows Fred to review any conversation he has had.

Unlike Jun in The Mansion of Hidden Souls, the player cannot control the conversation Fred has with other characters in any way, but can give items from his inventory in certain situations.
