Sylvan Tale (シルヴァン テイル) is an action RPG for the Sega Game Gear that was only released in Japan. It was unique for its time due to having a more linear progression than was common for action RPGs, being much more closely tied to the items in the player's possession at whatever point in the story.[4]
The script was written by Keiji Terui, a scriptwriter for anime like Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball[4], as well as previous Famicom games such as The Legend of Zelda, Yuuyuki and Time Twist: Rekishi no Katasumi de....[5]
