Sega Monkey Ball is a version of Super Monkey Ball adapted to J2ME-compatible mobile devices. It was the first game to be published by Sega Mobile, a division within Sega of America set up specifically to publish mobile games. In the US, the game was pre-loaded in the Samsung Rainbow A500, Sanyo SCP-4900 and LG 5350 handsets offered by Sprint.
Unlike its Nintendo GameCube counterpart, Sega Monkey Ball is presented entirely in 2D and is played from a top-down perspective. There are 15 levels.
