Aniversário (lit. Birthday) is a shooting game developed by Devworks Game Technology and published by Tec Toy. It was released as a built-in game on several Sega Mega Drive models released in Brazil. AtGames also released an English version of this game as Spider, available as part of Arcade Motion Classic.
In this game, the player has the job of protecting a chocolate cake from spiders. The player must move an aim (the in-game guide suggests that your weapon is an insecticide, but the player's weapon is some kind of projectile shooter rather than a spray) towards all spiders that does appear in the screen and kill them by pressing any button in the Mega Drive Control Pad. The spiders must not touch the table; letting a single spider touching it shows a Game Over screen with multiple spiders eating the cake.
After hitting the spiders, their respective "dead" sprite shows them bleeding with red blood. However, in real life, all spiders bleed blue blood.
Built-in appearances
- Master System 3 Collection 112 Super Jogos (2005)
- Super Mega Drive 3 71 Super Jogos (2005)
- Master System 3 Collection 120 Super Jogos (2006)
- Mega Drive 3 (2007)
- Mega Drive 3 (2008)
- MD Card Game 2 (2009, as part of a SD card for MD Play)
- Mega Drive 4 (2009)
Although it was featured in certain Sega Master System models, Aniversário does not have a native Master System version, but rather, the consoles themselves are "hidden Mega Drive" machines[1] and does run Mega Drive ROM images.
