Yoshitaka Tamaki (玉木 美孝) is an artist and character designer who began his career working as an assist under manga artist Kenichi Kotani. He got his start in the video game industry after he was hired as a freelance artist by Enix. It was at Enix where Hiroyuki Takahashi noticed his art and asked that he work on the production of Shining in the Darkness. He was in charge of character design and concept art for most of the titles that he worked on.
In 1999 he founded Salamander Factory Ltd. and worked as a graphic designer there. Afterwards, he began work as a designer at Swallow Tails Ltd. in January 2006.
Tamaki passed away in July 2023 due to lung cancer[1].
