Clean pause

When paused, hold + to hide the "PAUSE" text.

Note that for all of the codes below, when multiple buttons are to be held down together, they should be pressed reading from left to right. So + means press and hold followed by then release both. The codes will not activate unless they are inputted in this way.^[1]

5 lives

Pause the game and press , , , , +++ then unpause.

99 lives

Pause the game and press , ++, , , , , + then unpause.

10 continues

Pause the game and press , +, ++, ++ then unpause.

20 lives

Pause the game and press , +, ++, ++, then unpause.

Full health

Pause the game and press , , , , , +, + then unpause. The first time you use this code, your life bar will also be raised to five health points. If you use the code again on the same playthrough, your health will only be restored to its current maximum value.

Unused codes

There are three more codes that are recognised by the cheat handler but all functionality has been completely removed from the game. These codes do, however, function in the 1995-07-20 prototype^[2].
