Bayonetta 2 (ベヨネッタ 2) is the sequel to Bayonetta and is being developed by PlatinumGames. It was published by Nintendo as a Wii U exclusive. Sega published the first game, but are not as directly involved in this sequel. They confirmed they are taking an advisory role,[1] and are still credited as being involved with development in some way. They also remain the franchise owner of Bayonetta.
In Europe, three different editions of Bayonetta 2 were released, one with the game by itself, the "Special Edition" which comes with an enhanced version of the original Bayonetta beside it, and a "First Print Edition" that comes with the original Bayonetta plus an artbook. In regions outside Europe, the original Bayonetta comes with Bayonetta 2 by default but there is no edition that comes with the artbook.
Buying the game digitally gives the purchaser a discount for the original Bayonetta.
