Mr. Nutz: Hoppin' Mad, also known as Mr. Nutz 2 is a "sequel" to Mr. Nutz, developed by Neon Software and published by Ocean Software for the Commodore Amiga in 1994. It was due to be ported to the Sega Mega Drive, however this port was cancelled for unknown reasons. Had it been released, it would have arrived in Europe around April of 1995. Like its predecessor, no North American or Japanese Mega Drive versions were planned.

Mr. Nutz: Hoppin' Mad was developed by an entirely different team than Mr. Nutz, though the two projects worked in parallel. This gives the two games a radically different look and feel to each other - Hoppin' Mad is a much faster game inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario World, while the "regular" Mr. Nutz is a slower-paced adventure built with younger children in mind. Hoppin' Mad was not strictly a sequel though Ocean planned to market it as such.

The Mega Drive version of Mr. Nutz: Hoppin' Mad was reportedly finished, though was scrapped shortly afterwards. This likely because, by developing two games in parallel, both were due to be completed by early 1995, and two Mr. Nutz games for the system being released around the same period may have caused confusion. Hoppin' Mad did, however, make it to the press for review. Mean Machines Sega suggested it would be sold for £44.95 in the UK[1].

Uncompiled source code of the game was leaked onto the internet in 2009. This was later compiled in 2012 to create a mostly finished prototype of the game.
