The King of Fighters 2002 (ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズ2002) is the ninth installment of The King of Fighters series which was originally released on the Neo-Geo arcade hardware by SNK. The Sega Dreamcast version of the game was only released in Japan on June 2003, it was also the last game in the series to be released for the Dreamcast.
The Dreamcast version of the game re-adds Shingo Yabuki and King, two characters that were omitted from the original Arcade version. Despite this, there were no major gameplay changes from the arcade version of the game.
