Sega World Tomioka (セガワールド 富岡) was a former Japanese Sega World venue. Built by Higashi Nihon Daiwa and opening in 1995, it was cherished by many locals around the area, it had two-stories to hold more games and the exterior was originally painted white with blue and purple accents before it was remodeled sometime before mid-2006. The location unwillingly closed on March 11, 2011 due to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. Although originally closed for repairs from the hit of the earthquake, the arcade never reopened after the accident. The arcade is within the Red Zone implemented by the Japanese Government as to where heavy radiation lies and is not accessible to the general public; this in which ultimately forced the arcade's closure and due to extensive damage to the building, it remained standing deteriorating, rusting and falling apart beyond repair for nearly a decade. The branch and town overall were ultimately left abandoned due to radiation, this deemed the arcade games left behind in the venue unsalvageable. However, the Japanese Government has since reopened many areas, and in November 2020, it was finally demolished. It is now a vacant lot and many parts of the building, including the "SEGASONIC" logo on the front, arcade games left inside and fallen debris have most likely been destroyed due to being radiated.
