How do we add events? Does the widget even work?
Not sure of the format a talk page is supposed to be in.
- You almost have it. Just sign with - ~~~~. To start a new discussion, hit the + button. Use colons (:) at the beginning to mark a reply. - Andlabs 05:49, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Just want to make a suggestion: at current the SEGA RETRO logo at top-left does nothing when clicked, and I've been clicking it to attempt to go back to the main page. What do you think about making it a link to the main page?
- Agreed. Although there is a link to the Main Page right below the logo, I always click on a site's logo to go back to the main page. SOTI 09:14, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Test, just a test Marry
Hello. And Bye Marry. IT was nice to see you at this sweet suger house.
Cat captcha does not work
I was trying to edit the PlanetWeb page, to add a link to an archive of their long-dead Dreamcast portal; but since my edit included a new link (duh), the damn "select all cats" captcha showed up, and after several tries, I just can't get it to work. I believe it simply does not work. --Stormwatch (talk) 23:17, 23 April 2013 (CDT)
- Hm; I thought we fixed it. Let's see... (I put the two links that used to be there back anyway in the meantime) - Andlabs (talk) 11:59, 24 April 2013 (CDT)
- Nothing fixed yet, I see. --Stormwatch (talk) 04:52, 6 May 2013 (CDT)
Just a heads up
We should get into creating articles of these sooner or later. I'd do it myself, but it's a very huge backlog to overtake, and I'm kinda busy/lazy... --Uno10 (talk) 03:52, 10 September 2013 (CDT)
Vita
When I view this in vita the top menus don't show up. Main navigation, home consoles, arcade systems, sega, development. Thought you guys would like to know.--MathUser (talk) 15:48, 23 March 2015 (CDT)
Some scans
So, some years ago, I took scans of several PAL cartridges, boxes and manuals I own. I was meant to upload them all to Sega Retro, but as soon as I was starting, I realized that you guys have guidelines for these sort of uploads, namely how you want the scans at 300dpi. Thing is, I'm far too busy now to re-scan them all, so I figured it was better to ask you lot if you'd rather want my images, as they're better than nothing, or if I shouldn't even bother and just get rid of them. They were scanned at 200dpi, and there's 101 of them. I cropped and rotated them as I saw fit, and I think that, even though they don't follow the 300dpi guideline, they still look quite understandable. They look like File:Havoc cover MD UK.jpg (except that my copy of Havoc is by far my most unhealthy box cover; the others are much better). So, should I go ahead and upload them? Espyo (talk) 16:22, 8 June 2015 (CDT)
- If they're better than the images we have (or don't have), then we certainly do want them. Low or medium quality images are better than nothing, and they can always be replaced at a later date. - Hivebrain (talk) 16:31, 8 June 2015 (CDT)
- That's what I like to hear! I figured as much. Yeah, I'll skip any ones that exist. If you don't mind me asking, what format should I use for the file names, what license should I pick, what description format should I add to the files, and what categories should I put them on? Espyo (talk) 16:47, 8 June 2015 (CDT)
- Something like "GameName Console Region cover.jpg" is what I use for file names. Then use "{{MDBox|Region}}" in the description. So for example, "Ristar MD EU cover.jpg" with the description "{{MDBox|EU}}". Use GGBox for Game Gear games, DCBox for Dreamcast and so on. - Hivebrain (talk) 17:02, 8 June 2015 (CDT)
- Right. I'll take care of it tomorrow. No need for a textual description then? Oh, and what are the templates for cartridge and manual scans? Espyo (talk) 17:35, 8 June 2015 (CDT)
- This page may be helpful for you (possibly outdated or something though). --AllisonKidd (talk) 19:02, 8 June 2015 (CDT)

- If you're replacing files which already exist you won't need to worry about descriptions or filenames.
- Look out for "Upload a new version of this file" -Black Squirrel (talk) 09:49, 9 June 2015 (CDT)
- All done. I was left with two problems, though.
- My Streets of Rage 2 cart has that blue bubble theme for the "MEGA DRIVE" text you see on the likes of this. The SOR2 page already has an European scan, so what is my version? I can't tell which country it came from, as the store I bought it from is a second-hand game shop in Portugal, and I bought games from there with versions from all over the world. It's also missing the box, so no go there.
- For Micro Machines 96, when I bought it (again, on the same second-hand shop), it came with:
- A Codemasters prize draw and warranty card; you fill in some data, including questions like "How could we make this game better?", then send it, and you can win a colour TV.
- A tournament invite template, where the TO writes the address and time, and sends to people.
- A tournament winner certificate template, where the TO writes the name of the person who came first in the tournament.
- A password card, where you can fill in the name and author of a course and type in its password, for safekeeping.
- Should I upload these as well? Espyo (talk) 11:11, 10 June 2015 (CDT)
- You'll have to show us this Streets of Rage 2 cart.
- And yes all extras should be scanned. -Black Squirrel (talk) 13:45, 10 June 2015 (CDT)

- MM96 extras have been uploaded. File:MM96 Password Card.jpg, File:MM96 Tournament Certificate.jpg, File:MM96 Tournament Invite.jpg, File:MM96 Prize Draw.jpg. I couldn't find any template or category for them, so I slapped them with the MDBox template. Espyo (talk) 15:52, 10 June 2015 (CDT)

Spam filter nonsense
I tried to mention the fact that a certain game is a port of a Windows and Macintosh title, and I got: *** Forbidden. Message seems to be spam. *** What the heck? --Stormwatch (talk) 23:04, 22 March 2022 (EDT)
- I'm STILL having the same problem, on a different page, on a different edit. --Stormwatch (talk) 22:01, 1 February 2024 (EST)
